Trying to be...
2003-11-11 - 1:51 p.m. Lying on the table, naked from the waist down, nervous about what was about to transpire. Cold, wet goo on my tummy and a kind reassuring technician (in bold contrast to my last ultrasound, where I was waiting to be diagnosed with PCOS, sad and weepy in a waiting room full of happily pregnant couples. Waiting for hours (literally) for a nasty technician who made me feel rushed, and nothing more than a number - not explaining anything to me, taking a cell phone call from her babysitter mid-procedure) "There's the gestational sac!" she said, turning the screen in my direction. "and there .... is your baby!" "see that fluttering there? That's the heartbeat! Nice and steady, that's perfect" Seriously, could there be better words than that? we leave for vacation on Friday. Then 2 weeks with no work, relaxing when I need to relax (like I wish I could right now, but I still have another 6 1/2 hours of work), etc. Then we get back on Monday Dec 1, and have our next dr appointment on Tuesday the 2nd. ahhhh, I feel much better today.
