So, my first batch of Friday Five and it has to be this hard? How come I couldn't have one of those cute little "what was your first pet's name" ones?
1. If your life were a movie, what would the title be?
Looking Back, I Wouldn't Change a Thing
Though obviously in focus groups they would say "nope, too many words, won't appeal to the audience...brainstorm, what else?"
In which case we would have to shorten it to Reflections or Looking Back or something else zingy in a word or two.
2. What songs would be on the soundtrack?
I can't say for sure what songs, though I know there would definitely be some Red House Painters, Sebadoh, Jawbox, Guided by Voices, Archers of Loaf, Underworld, Bedhead, and Stereolab. If it had flashes back to high school then certainly a dose of 80's new-wave - Smiths, Cure, APB, Haircut 100. Chronicles of college would of course be the entire Wax Trax! catalogue of industrial (aka "anything Al Jourgensen touched or influenced"). Early 90's would be the powerpop bands that influenced today's Emo.
Oh, and for the original score, of course Craig Wedren would be the composer. He does all the beautiful soundtracks you know.....
3. Would it be a live-action film or animated? Why?
Definitely live-action. I am not an animated kind of gal.
4. Casting: who would play you, members of your family, friends, etc?
Me, would probably be Kate Winslet, Gillian Anderson, Catherine Keener -- you know, no one HUGE HUGE HUGE. I'd love to say Janeane Garafolo, but I'm not at creatively cutting as she is. If we were going soley on looks, then I guess I'd have to say Ricki Lake, because I get the "you know who you look like?" thing alot.
The Mr? well, David Duchoveny is the closest looks-wise (I think)
My friends? I think that Janeane would make a great L (friend from high school). Oh man, my wheels are spinning on this one. I may have to come back and edit in some additions later when I'm more awake!
5. Describe the movie preview/trailer.
This would be an indie film, for sure. No flash, no high drama...more of a rememberance film, full of flashbacks and laughter. I'm thinking it might be like a Beaches type movie, without Bette and hopefully without the death. Just a rekindling of some girlfriends who sit around reflecting on their pasts, praising each other's accomplishments, and being thankful for what they have given how some of the other's friends have turned out.
Come to think of it, its not such a great movie....I don't know who would go see it.
